Hurlock Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

HURLOCK, Md.- A Hurlock man is behind bars on attempted murder and related charges after being accused of firing shots at his younger brother on Tuesday.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a reported assault and shooting at a home on Railroad Road in Hurlock.

According to police, deputies learned that 43-year-old Blair Harrington Hubbard of East New Market had assaulted his brother's live-in girlfriend. Police say that upon hearing his girlfriend screaming, 47-year-old Gary Webb Hubbard Sr., of the Railroad Road address, armed himself with a 12-gauge shotgun and fired three shots at his brother as he was fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.

Blair Hubbard was slightly injured by glass and debris and was transported to Dorchester General Hospital for treatment and released. He was charged with second-degree assault and released from custody on $5,000 bond. His girlfriend was transported to Dorchester General Hospital and treated and released.

Gary Hubbard was charged with attempted first- and second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property over $500. He was jailed on $250,000 bond.
