ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. - Police say two people have been arrested and one man is wanted in connection with a robbery and abduction by gunpoint in Accomack County on Tuesday.
Accomack County Sheriff Larry Giddens say they are looking for Richard Lebryant Copes, aka Spiderman, 29, of Withams. He is described as a black male, 5-foot-11 and 230 pounds.
On Tuesday at 1:26 p.m., police received a report that a man had been abducted and robbed at gunpoint.
Further investigation revealed the suspects to be acquaintances of the victim and no injury was sustained during this crime, police say. According to authorities, the suspects took money and the victim's car, however the victim was able to escape from the suspects to a local bank in Oak Hall.
During the investigation, information was received that led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle found abandoned in a nearby area and the arrest of two suspects.
Martese J. Creekmore, 18, of New Church, was arrested June 11 on charges of robbery, abduction and grand larceny of a vehicle. He was locked up at the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.
Demetrick D. Downing, 22, of Temperanceville, was arrested June 11 on charges of robbery, abduction and grand larceny of a vehicle. He was also locked up at the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.
Felony arrest warrants have been obtained charging Copes with robbery, abduction, grand larceny of a vehicle and two counts of use of firearm in commission of a felony.
