MILFORD, Del.- Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a motor vehicle crash that killed three people in Milford back in April.

Milford police say George C. Marvel, 50, of Milton, is charged with three counts of operation of motor vehicle causing death and one count of inattentive driving. The charges stem from an April 13 crash that occurred on Bay Road south of Tub Mill Pond Road near Route 113.

Police said Sandra Peterman, 65 and Madison Peterman, 9, both of Milford, and Hannah Davies, 9, of Frederica, died after a propane delivery truck driven by Marvel collided with their car near the intersection with Route 113. Marvel was not injured in the crash.

As a result of their investigation, police arrested Marvel on Thursday, July 2. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on bond pending a preliminary hearing in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.

Police said Sandra Peterman was the wife of former Kent County Levy Court Commissioner Harold "Jack" Peterman. Madison Peterman was the former commissioner's granddaughter.
