

Joseph R. DopirakHARRINGTON, Del.- A 42-year-old Felton man is behind bars after Harrington police arrested him over last weekend for his sixth DUI offense.
According to police, on Saturday, July 25, Joseph R. Dopirak was stopped after an officer observed him operating his vehicle on Route 13 in the area of Porter Street. Police say the officer knew that Dopirak was wanted out of the Harrington Police Department in connection with an arrest warrant issued on July 10 for third-degree assault.
Police say the officer found that Dopirak was under the influence of alcohol and he was later given a field sobriety test that he failed. Dopirak was taken in to custody and transported to police headquarters for the intoxilyzer test, where investiagors say he blew a .17 BAC, more than twice the legal limit.
Dopirak was charged with his sixth DUI offense, as well as driving while revoked, displaying a revoked license, no registration in possession and no proof of insurance. He was also booked on the third-degree assault charge.
Dopirak was locked up in the Sussex County Correctional Institute on a $4,700 cash bond on the DUI and related traffic charges along with a $1,000 cash bond in connection with the third-degree assault arrest.
