Joseph M. ParkerMILTON, Del.- Authorities say a 42-year-old Milton man is facing rape and related charges after being accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl over a three-year period.
Milton police on Wednesday arrested Joseph M. Parker for 14 counts of first-degree rape, one count of second-degree rape, continuous sexual abuse of a child, five counts of first-degree unlawful sexual contact and felony endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say the investigation got underway Tuesday after a 13-year-old girl claimed that Parker had sexually abused her. According to police, investigators learned that the abuse had been ongoing for the past three years.
Parker was taken into custody on the above charges and was held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $776,000 cash bond.
