Mardela House Fire Probed

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.- Authorities are investigating a Sunday morning fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a Mardela Springs home.

The four-alarm fire occurred at around 5:10 a.m. at a two-story single-family home located on 408 Main St. It took 45 firefighters from Mardela Springs, Hebron, Sharptown, Vienna, Linkwood and Delmar about two hours to get the blaze under control.

The fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to the structure and another $25,000 in damage to its contents. There were no reported injuries.

Deputy State Fire Marshal's determined the fire originated in the rear living room of the home and was caused by an incendiary.

Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call the Salisbury Office of
the Maryland State Fire Marshal at (410) 713-3780.
