Man Pleads Guilty to Stealing Stamps

WASHINGTON (AP)- A D.C. postal employee has pleaded guilty to stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of stamps.

Fifty-one-year-old Reginald Mallett of Clinton, Md., pleaded guilty Thursday to misappropriation of postal funds. He will be sentenced on Dec. 17.

Federal prosecutors say that between February and September 2008, Mallet was recorded on surveillance video taking uncanceled stamps from safes at the Washington Square Post Office. Authorities say he stole $58,518 worth of stamps.
