Seaford House Fire Ruled Accidental

SEAFORD, Del.- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says a Tuesday morning fire caused thousands of dollars of damage to a Seaford home.

The 9:45 a.m. blaze occurred at a home located on the the 500 block of West Poplar Street.

The Seaford Fire Department, assisted by the Blades Fire Department, responded to the scene.  Upon arrival they encountered smoke showing.

The residents were not home at the time of the incident.  No injuries were reported. Investigators say the home was not equipped with working smoke detectors.  Damages have been estimated at $25,000.

Deputy State Fire Marshals have determined that the fire originated in the in a first floor wall and was caused by a malfunction of the branch wiring inside the wall.
