EASTON, Md.- Authorities have arrested a Chester, Md. man accused of shoplifting items from the Easton Wal-Mart three days in a row.

Easton police say that on Tuesday, Oct. 13, officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at the store. Upon arrival, they were met by store security and the suspect later identified as 40-year-old Joseph Bosler Shearer III.

According to police, the officers learned that Shearer had entered the store in the past three consecutive days and had taken items from the shelves. Police say Shearer would then pass all points of sale without paying for the items. Investigators say that on each consecutive day, he would return with the same items and return them for cash.

As a result of their investigation, the officers arrested Shearer on three counts of theft less than $100 and one count of theft scheme of less than $1,000.

He was locked up in lieu of $3,500 bond.
