SMYRNA, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 42-year-old Smyrna man wanted on charges of raping two pre-teen girls.

Detectives took Phillip G. Clayville into custody Tuesday after he turned himself in to Troop 3 in Camden on outstanding warrants.

Police say the initial investigation started in June 2009, when the family of a 12-year-old girl contacted police about allegations that Clayville sexually assaulted the girl. Troopers say that as the investigation continued, detectives learned that Clayville had also sexually assaulted another girl, who is 11-years-old. According to police, the offenses occurred between November 2008 and May 2009.

Detectives completed their investigation and obtained warrants for Clayville's arrest. He was charged with three counts of fourth-degree rape- sexual penetration of a victim less than 16 or without consent (felony), and two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual contact (felony).

Clayville was issued a $16,000 secured bond and a no contact order. He posted bail and was released pending his trial date.
