SALISBURY, Md.- A Wicomico County Circuit Court jury has found a Salisbury man guilty of armed robbery for his role in a 2008 home invasion.
On Thursday night, after a two-day jury trial, 22-year-old Deshawn Stevenson was found guilty of three counts of armed robbery, three counts of robbery, three counts each of first- and second-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, three counts of theft, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary and illegal possession of a regulated firearm.
Deputy State's Attorney Sam Vincent says that on Nov. 9, 2008, Stevenson was with two other men, 23-year-old Michael Ingram and 26-year-old Deonte Spratling, both also of Salisbury, when they invaded a home wearing masks and carrying handguns at Marley Manor Apartments in Salisbury. Vincent says one of the victims answered the door at which time the three men ordered the victim and two others to hand over their valuables at gunpoint. A shotgun, medication, a laptop computer, a PlayStation video game system, a paintball gun, jewelry and cash were stolen from the apartment.
Stevenson will be sentenced within the next 30 days and is being held without bond.
Ingram pleaded guilty to Armed Robbery on April 21, 2009 and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Spratling pleaded guilty to armed robbery on May 28, 2009 and was sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
