Fire Breaks Out at Salisbury Motel

SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury firefighters responded to a Tuesday morning fire that broke out at the Thrift Travel Inn on North Salisbury Boulevard.

The blaze was reported at approximately 9:23 a.m. Firefighters arriving on scene found smoke showing from a second floor room. Firefighters discovered a small fire in the room's air conditioning unit. The fire had begun to spread to the curtains. Crews used several fire extinguishers to put out the blaze.  The situation was placed under control in less than 10 minutes. A total of 20 firefighters from all city fire stations responded to the scene.

Firefighters attempted to evacuate the structure of any and all occupants, while subsequent crews worked on smoke removal. There were no reported injuries.

The fire remains under investigation.
