SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities have arrested a Salisbury man accused of repeatedly stabbing another man on Wednesday night.
At around 9:42 p.m., Salisbury police officers responded to a reported stabbing alleged to have occurred at an apartment located in the College Park Apartments on Arthur Court.
Upon arrival, the officers found 29-year-old Jeremiah Matthews of Salisbury bleeding from a stab wound to the neck. The officers were able to control the bleeding until the arrival of paramedics. Police say Matthews also had several stab wounds to the front of his chest area. Matthews was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.
Police say an investigation by detectives revealed that Matthews and the suspect, identified as 29-year-old William Lee Revel of Salisbury, were involved in a card game inside Revel's apartment.
Police say the two men got into an argument over money at which time Revel pulled out a box cutter type of knife and stabbed Matthews several times. The knife was recovered a short distance from the scene.
Revel was charged with first- and second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous and deadly weapon, possession of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure and reckless endangerment. He was turned over to the custody of Wicomico Central Booking.
