PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- In response to the recent string of bank robberies in the Wicomico County area, residents in nearby counties are worrying for their safety. Bank managers and the police force in Princess Anne are increasing security measures.

In Somerset County, Hebron Savings Bank has provided additional trainings for its tellers.

"I feel like it's kind of scary because I know they could possibly come this way but at the same time I feel safer knowing i'm not in the midst of it all," said bank manager Tammy Zink.

To customers' relief, there has been an increase of police presence near banks.

"It makes me feel good that they're out watching," said Princess Anne resident Ruth Bell.

In the meantime, law enforcement agencies across counties held a press conference Thursday to address the recent surge in armed robberies in Wicomico County.

"Crime knows no boundaries," said Wicomico County State Attorney Davis Ruark.

Anyone who has information on the robberies is asked to call Crime Solvers at (410) 548-7776.
