SALISBURY, Md. and Delmar, Del.- Authorities say a suspect is in custody in connection with two Salisbury bank robberies as well as another robbery that occurred at a bank in Delmar, Del.

Salisbury police say 33-year-old Jonathan James Zulinski of Delmar, Del. is being held on a detainer by Delaware State Police pending extradition to Maryland. Police say an anonymous tip to Wicomico Crimesolvers led to his arrest.

Salisbury police say the arrest stemmed from the most recent bank robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the PNC Bank on 1810 North Salisbury Boulevard. According to police, shortly before 11 a.m. Zulinski, entered the bank and approached one of the tellers. Investigators say the Zulinski passed a note to the teller indicating that he was armed and as a result was given an amount of money. Police say Zulinski did not display a weapon and there were no injuries.

Investigators say Zulinski ran out of the bank and got into a silver Chrysler Sebring with unknown Delaware registration. Police say another male suspect- who has not been arrested yet- drove the getaway car which fled on northbound Route 13.

Due to similarities with another robbery that occurred Oct. 26 at the PNC Bank on Snow Hill Road, Salisbury police detectives contacted the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation to assist in the investigation. WBI detectives responded to the scene to assist with the investigation and utilizing intelligence information provided by WBI detectives, Salisbury police developed Zulinski as a suspect.

WBI and Salisbury detectives, with the assistance of the Delmar Police Department and Delaware State Police, were able to locate Zulinski. He was subsequently arrested by Delaware State Police on unrelated charges.

Investigators say a search and seizure warrant executed on Zulinski's Delmar, Del. home resulted in the recovery of a large amount of evidence that included clothing, the robbery note and a large percentage of the stolen cash. Police also found the getaway car outside the trailer.

Salisbury police say that as a result of the robbery of the PNC Bank on North Salisbury Boulevard, Zulinski is being charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Police say Zulinski will also face charges in connection with the robbery of the PNC Bank on Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. Also on Wednesday, the Delmar Police Department announced that it has obtained an arrest warrant for Zulinski charging him in connection with the Oct. 15 robbery of the Wilmington Trust in Delmar, Del.

Wicomico County State's Attorney Davis Ruark says he does not yet know in which state Zulinski will face trial first. Authorities say the Delmar man was on probation from a robbery conviction in Delaware.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing with regards to Zulinski’s accomplices.
