WILMINGTON, Del. (WBOC/AP)- The Delaware Department of Transportation says most of the approximately 50 Delaware roads that were closed or had high water from coastal flooding are now open.

The flooding was a result of Tropical Storm Ida, with road closures concentrated in Sussex and Kent counties.

Transportation officials said Sunday that most of the roads have reopened, including the Indian River Inlet Bridge, which leads from the ocean into the river bay and had been closed since Thursday.

In related news, Gov. Jack Markell has lifted the state of emergency he had declared in Kent and Sussex counties on Thursday. The state of emergency ended as of 8 a.m. Sunday. State officials are continuing to assess storm damage.
