DOVER, Del.- Authorities are searching for a homeless man accused of shooting another man multiple times during a Friday night argument.
Delaware State Police say 29-year-old Daemont L. Wheeler shot a 48-year-old man after an argument at a home on John Clark Road in the Rodney Village area of Dover. According to investigators, Wheeler and the victim are both involved with women from the same family and the two men did not like each other. The dispute came to a head Friday at around 9 p.m. when Wheeler pulled out a handgun and shot the victim multiple times with a handgun, according to police.
Police say that after the shooting, Wheeler fled the home. The victim was transported to Kent General where his is currently in serious condition after emergency surgery.
Police are still looking for Wheeler who is wanted on attempted murder and related charges. Authorities are asking that anyone who knows of his whereabouts to call Troop 3 at (302) 697- 4455 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Police say Wheeler should be considered armed and dangerous.
