SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities are ruling as accidental a Sunday night fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a Salisbury home.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the 8:13 p.m. blaze occurred at a two-story wood frame home located on 538 E. Lincoln Ave.
It took 35 firefighters from all three Salisbury fire stations about 20 minutes to get the flames under control.
The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to the structure and another $8,000 in damage to its contents. There were no reported injuries.
State Fire Marshal investigators determined that the fire originated in the first floor living room and was accidentally caused by an unattended electric clothes iron.
