MAGNOLIA, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested three men- including two enlisted Marines- accused of breaking into a Magnolia furniture store and attempting to steal a cash register.
Troopers were called to the Magnolia Furniture Store on South Main Street early Sunday morning after receiving a report of a burglary. When troopers arrived they found that a rock had been thrown through the front window. Police say it appeared that the suspects had entered the business and attempted to remove the crash register but were unsuccessful.
Troopers located evidence that led them to a home on West Walnut Street in Magnolia. Police say when troopers arrived at the home, they found the three men and located additional evidence linking them to the crime.
Clayton Semans, 18, of Magnolia; Larry Gonzalez, 19, of Picayune, Miss.; and Klye Calder, 18, of Dover, were arrested and charged burglary, attempted theft, conspiracy and criminal mischief. They were arraigned and released on unsecured bail pending an appearance in the Court of Common Pleas in and for Kent County.
Police noted that Semans and Gonzalez are enlisted with the Marines and were absent without leave from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina when the crime occurred.
