SNOW HILL, Md.- The Maryland State Highway Administration reopened Route 12 Tuesday, just west of the Pocomoke River bridge to Snow Hill.

High water forced its closure over the weekend. On Monday the water had receded, but an SHA truck escorted groups of cars across the remaining water.

It was nearly dry Tuesday afternoon.

Town residents say heavy flooding in the town caused headaches at home, also.

"A lot of people had leaks, that they've never had before," said resident Gary Weber. "A lot of the basements [of] people who lived here for many years never had water intrusion, and for the first time had water intrusion."

However, parts of Byrd Park remained flooded Thursday evening.
