Md. Governor Urges Residents to 'Stay Focused'

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Gov. Martin O'Malley, in a terse statement after the conviction of Mayor Sheila Dixon, says it is important to stay focused on serving Baltimore.

O'Malley, who was mayor of Baltimore when Dixon was City Council president, said Tuesday "is a sad day" for Baltimore and Dixon.

He urged attention to serving the people who live and work in Baltimore, urging people to focus on reducing crime, improving schools and creating jobs.
