SALISBURY, Md.- Residents are still praying for the family of 11-year-old Sarah Haley Foxwell.

"Something like this hits home," said Salisbury resident David Bartin. "It's very devastating for the family."

Many people have tied red or yellow ribbons around mailboxes and trees in memory of Sarah, whose body was found Christmas day at around 4 p.m. in a wooded area off of Melson Road, about half a mile south of the Maryland-Delaware line.

Although funeral plans have been paid for by local donors, the family is asking for donations to be dropped off at any Farmers Bank of Willards location.

Many have already done so.

"I keep thinking of being in that position," said Becky Ross. "I just feel so bad about it."

"Whatever else the family needs, the children especially if they can use it in some way to help them through the holiday," said Lisa Koehler, who dropped off funds with her daughter.

Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis also announced that a temporary memorial will be set up at Shorebirds Stadium Tuesday morning. Sarah's funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church at 217 Beaglin Park Drive in Salisbury.

A suspect has been charged in connection with Sarah's abduction. Thirty-year-old Thomas James Leggs Jr. of Salisbury is charged with first-degree burglary and kidnapping. The sheriff says more charges will be forthcoming against Leggs within the next 30 days.
