LEWES, Del. (AP)- Marine officials say three seals have been sighted on beaches in Delaware, a common pit stop for the traveling sea mammals.
Suzanne Thurman, director of the Marine Education, Research & Rehabilitation Institute of Lewes, says the institute got calls Wednesday about seals in Fenwick Island, Lewes and Prime Hook.
Fenwick's was a harbor seal, while a harp seal was identified in Prime Hook. The seal in Lewes could not be identified because it went back into the water before volunteers arrived.
Thurman says the seal at Prime Hook was healthy, but she didn't get to visit the other two animals.
