DOVER, Del.- The anticipated winter weather has forced the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Women's Bowling Team to miss the Capital Classic bowling tournament, which had been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 6-7.
The event was originally scheduled to be held at the Brunswick Doverama in the Rodney
Village shopping center in Dover.
Thirteen collegiate women's bowling teams, including seven in the latest National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 20, were scheduled to compete in the tournament. UMES, arguably the nation's hottest team and currently ranked no. 2 in the latest poll was headlining the field along with third-ranked and host Delaware State.
The weather also forced the MEAC Northern Division Champion Women's Volleyball team to postpone a scheduled community service activity at The Christian Shelter in Salisbury, Md. which will be rescheduled for later this month.
