Sea Gull Men's Lacrosse Takes Hold of No. 1 Ranking

BALTIMORE- The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team returned to a familiar position in the most recent United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches' poll, as the Sea Gulls took hold of the No. 1 ranking. This marks the eighth consecutive year the maroon and gold have held the top ranking during the regular season.

The Sea Gulls (12-0, 3-0 Capital Athletic Conference) collected all 14 first-place votes and 280 points after picking up a pair of CAC victories, including a 16-10 victory over then-No. 1 Stevenson University (10-1, 2-1 CAC) on Saturday.

Gettysburg College (10-1) moved up one spot from No. 3 to No. 2, as the Bullets garnered 264 points. Stevenson dropped from No. 1 to No. 3, as the Mustangs received 250 points. SUNY Cortland (6-2) holds steady at No. 4 as the Red Dragons collected 232 points this week. The Sea Gulls' 2010 schedule featured all three of those teams, with the Gulls prevailing in each of the contests. Dickinson College (10-1) rounds out the top five with 216 points.

The Sea Gulls are set to square off with St. Mary's (Md.) College this Wednesday at Sea Gull Stadium at 7 p.m. The Seahawks (6-3, 3-0 CAC) received votes in this week's USILA coaches' poll.
