CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Va.- What is believed to be the oldest house on Chincoteague Island is on its way toward restoration.

On Monday, the cabin was moved to the property of two actors who frequent the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

"It is amazing how the cabin just keeps bringing people together and the cabin seems to have a little magical thing about it," said Paul Brzozowski, who plays the wizard on Broadway's "Wicked."

"There's something very special about telling a story I believe goes to the core of what the shore and the islands are about," added his wife Louisa Flaningam, "and that's about the water."

Capt. Timothy Hill may have bought or built the house in 1822, but Timothy Robinson of Heartland Restoration believes it may date further back.

"I found a couple wrought nails which were the first nails made," Robinson explained.

The couple plans on refurbishing the roof and installing a century-esque wooden chimney. They hope to get the cabin on both the Virginia and National Landmarks registers.
