SALISBURY, Md.- The signs are everywhere pointing to this year's elections. They're also on Facebook.

More candidates are campaigning online on such social networking sites like Facebook. Twenty-eight-year-old Nicole Venuto was hired by Maryland Democratic Delegate Norman Conway to create his profile page.

"[The goal] is to reach out to some of the younger voters and to organizations that may not have heard about Norm and to spread the word as fast as we can and as far as we can in this district," Venuto said.

Other examples include Republican Maryland gubernatorial candidate Robert Ehrlich, who announced his running mate first to 25,000 fans online during a weeknight. Gov. Martin O'Malley, a Democrat who is running for re-election, responded to a Facebook invite for the Crisfield clam bake, and posted photos from that event.
