Ocean City Businesses Get First Look at New Commuter Airline

OCEAN CITY- Simmons Air made their big debut at the Ocean City trade show this weekend.

Owner Wayne Simmons showed off the new airline that will make commuter flights from Baltimore to Ocean City. The ten passenger plane will fly six round trips a day for seven days a week. Tickets will cost $45 for the 35 minute flight.

The owner says these quick flights will not just benefit travelers.

"I think it's going to change dramatically the way business is done," said Simmons. "Certainly now from the real estate side you can fly your client down for something very reasonable.

Simmons says regular round trip flights will start in early May.

Simmons Air was one of hundreds of businesses on display at the 31st Ocean City Spring Trade Show this weekend. More than 350 exhibitors demonstrated products and gave out samples.

Organizers say the show gives hotels and restaurants the chance to hear about new products and marketing plans.
