DOVER- There are new details in the fight to stabilize energy prices in Delaware.
An independent consultant this week released a report ranking the three different proposals to provide long-term and cheaper energy to Delmarva Power. That includes a coal plant, a natural gas plant or wind power.
They were judged on several factors, including price stability and environmental impact.
"It's very important to customers because it could affect the price they pay if they're a Delmarva Power customer," said Bruce Burcat of the Delaware Public Service Commission. "It'll also deal with environmental issues because you're dealing with different kinds of technology."
Gas was ranked highest in the report even though wind power was the most environmentally safe.
Public hearings on this issue will continue in March.
