LEWES, Del. - When most people get sick, they go to a doctor or buy medicine.  But, Saturday in Lewes, some people looked at other ways to stay healthy.

The methods may seem a little extreme or too simple, or maybe too much new age.  But at the 16th Annual Holistic Health Fair, it started with nutrition.  Eating natural foods instead of prepackaged meals full of preservatives.

"There was chemicals added to everything that we eat and drink and I think now people are saying if they can eliminate those things, they stand a better chance of being healthier and living a longer life," said Tom McGlone, Co-owner of Good for You Natural Market.

Then the lesson moves on to medicine.  Using natural methods like vitamins and herbs.  Also, managing stress, which some believe leads to chronic illness.

"We're no longer trying to chase a symptom and make it go away, where you end up needing a laundry list of medications to deal with the side effects that happen because of the drug, we're working from the ground up," said Kim Furtado, a Naturopathic Doctor.

And of course, the power of touch.  Some of the physical therapists at the fair, like Elite P.T., work with the professional athletes.

"Massage really helps align the tissues, helps to loosen tissues up, restores function, increases body flow, just gives a good overall feeling," said John Knarr of Elite.

It is all about being healthy at the Holistic Health Fair and living longer because of it.
