UNDATED- The Delaware Division of Public Health is encouraging residents of Sussex County to agree to participate in a health survey as part of research on lung cancer.

According to the DPH, this study will help researchers answer questions about higher-than-expected lung cancer rates in the Indian River area. DPH staff are contacting residents in the area for participation in this survey which takes approximately 30 minutes and can be completed over-the-phone or in-person. The survey asks questions about past and current behaviors. No medical procedures are involved, according to the DPH.

Information that directly identifies participants will not be shared. Individuals are eligible to participate if they are Sussex County residents and have never been diagnosed with any type of cancer. Participation is voluntary.

In appreciation of their time, participants will receive a $15 gift card to a local retail store. Anyone with questions about the survey should call (302) 744-1084.
