SALISBURY, Md. - The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating two separate attempted murder cases that happened Thursday night.
Police say they responded to the first case around 9:28 p.m., when authorities investigated a report of shots fired at the 400 block of Bailey Lane in Salisbury.
Upon arrival the deputies say they located a 17-year-old juvenile with a single gunshot wound to her back. The victim was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she was subsequently operated on and is expected to make a full recovery, police say.
Investigators say that unknown suspects shot into a group of individuals who were in the roadway on Bailey Lane.
According to authorities, police responded to the second attempted murder around 10:22 p.m. when police investigated a report of shots being fired in the area of the 1200 block of Pocahontas Avenue. At the time, nothing suspicious was seen, police say
At 10:42 p.m., deputies responded to the 1000 block of Spring Avenue for a related call where the caller reported being a victim of attempted murder, that had occoured on Pocahontas Avenue several minutes prior, according to investigators.
Deputies say they located the victim, an adult male and his vehicle with what appeared to be a gunshot. According to police, two other adult males were present in the vehicle when the shooting happened. The victim said that unknown suspects fired at his vehicle.
