FREDERICA, Del.- A fiery head-on crash involving two SUVs in Frederica killed six people Monday afternoon, including a mother and her four children.
Delaware State Police say the crash occurred around 3:35 p.m. on Carpenter Bridge road just east of Roesville Road.
Police say the crash was between a 2004 Ford Explorer and a 1999 Ford Explorer. According to police, the 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling on westbound Carpenter Bridge Road while the 2004 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Carpenter Bridge Road when both SUVs collided head-on and burst into flames. All the occupants and drivers in both SUVs died in the crash.
According to police, the 2004 Ford Explorer was driven by Michael E. Miller, 34, of Frederica. He was the lone occupant of this vehicle.
The 1999 Ford Explorer was driven by Kelly D. Rinaldi, 36, of Harrington. The other four occupants were Jacob Rinaldi, 15; Jessup Crow, 5; Kyle Crow, 5; and Kaylee Crow, 7; all of Harrington. The four kids were the children of Kelly D. Rinaldi.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
