EASTON, Md. - Police say a 41-year-old man from Baltimore was arrested for impersonating a police officer in Easton on Thursday.

Maryland State Police say a trooper from the Easton Barrack stopped a Nissan Sentra for speeding 65 mph in a 30 mph zone.

According to investigators, when the trooper approached the vehicle and requested the driver's license and registration card, the driver, Bradford Isaiah Thomson, said that he was a police officer and showed a gold Loyola College special police officer badge.

The trooper said he requested a photo police identification, however Thomson could not provide any.  Authorities say they contacted Loyola College and the trooper was told by law enforcement there that Thomson was a special police officer at one time. According to authorities there, Thomson had been dismissed from that job and was currently only a dispatcher and that the badge should have been turned in.

Thomson was subsequently arrested and transported to the Talbot County Commissioners office for a bond hearing.
