Builder Files to Pull Out of Salisbury Redevelopment Deal

10/24/2007 10:54 AM ET

SALISBURY, Md. (AP)- The principal home builder in the plan to redevelop the former Salisbury Mall property has filed to cancel its' contract with developer Salisbury Mall Associates.

John Zink, the attorney representing builder K. Hovnanian Homes, says the contract contains a termination clause allowing the builder to void the agreement.

However, developer's attorney David Wolfe says the builder does not have that right.

Wolfe's formal response is due in court by Nov.12.

A legal fight over city zoning changes has delayed construction for the Village at Salisbury Lake project. Plans call for 685 residential units and commercial space.
