Forecast updated on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 3:30am by Meteorologist Mike Lichniak.

Today: A little bit of fog this morning across the region. Overall, a nice day with lots of sunshine. Highs: 78-86. Winds: N 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, some fog possible by daybreak. Lows: 64-72. Winds: Light.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs: 78-86. Winds: NE 5-15 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear. Lows: 64-72. Winds: NE 2-6 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs: 77-86. Winds: N 5-10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs: 75-86. Winds: N 5-10 mph.

Jose will continue to linger off of our coastline, which will keep the ocean rough over the next few days until the storm begins to fall apart completely over the weekend. Until then, a high rip current threat will exist on the beaches until further notice. Overall, the next few days will be very nice with lots of sunshine...but not feeling like the first days of fall. Temperatures expected to be into the mid 80s in some places over the weekend with lots of sunshine.

Maria will move up the coast working into early next week and pass just to our east on Tuesday and Wednesday. The seas will get churned up once again and we could deal with a couple of the rain bands from Maria on Wednesday. It will also turn a bit windy once again on Wednesday, especially right along the beaches. Maria poses no threat to land, at this point, as the models indicate that a cold front will keep Maria off the US mainland.

That same front brings a chance for some showers and maybe even a few storms next Friday.
