Updated: Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM by Meteorologist Dan Satterfield:
Tonight: Partly cloudy and not as cool. Low 41-44. Wind: S 2-8 mph.
Wednesday: Increasing clouds and becoming quite windy. Showers and thundershowers developing PM. High 66-69. Wind: S 12-28 mph.
Wednesday Night: Very windy with rain ending by 11 PM. Sharply colder late. With winds gusting to near 45 mph. Low 24-27. Wind: NW 20-40 gusts to 50 mph on open water.
Thursday: Clearing, cold and windy. High 35-38. Wind: NW 16-34 mph diminishing by late afternoon.
Forecast Discussion: A strong low-pressure system will approach on Wednesday bringing a gusty south wind and more mild air. Highs my approach 70, before clouds and rain develop ahead of a strong cold front. We may also see a few thundershowers as a cold front passes after dark. It will become very windy with gusts to near 50 or higher late Wednesday as a strong cold front passes.
It will turn much colder and stay very windy Wednesday night with a rapid temperature drop. Look for sunshine and much colder air on Thursday along with a strong gusty wind from the northwest. Friday looks sunny with temperatures moderating. Saturday looks cloudy as a weak cool front passes. It will turn cooler Sunday, and cooler still Monday and Tuesday. Forecast confidence is very low for early next week and the forecast may change significantly.
