"Business is really off this year. We're off 30-40 percent and we think it's because of the weather, Humidity. We think crowds aren't coming in because of that,' said Chip Narvel of the Delaware State Grange.
Some businesses said the economy, along with Mother Nature, contributed to the lackluster crowds. Still, vendors at the fair are optimistic that the cooler weather will pack the fairgrounds with people as the fair comes to a close this weekend.
The fair ends on Saturday and attendance numbers are not expected to be released until next week.
