WILMINGTON (AP)- A former campaign aide to Senator Joseph Biden, who admitted he stole money from Biden's campaign treasury, was sentenced to more than three years in behind bars Thursday.
Roger Blevins pleaded guilty last year to interstate transportation of stolen property and aiding and abetting the making of a false statement to the government. Blevins admitted to the unauthorized transfer of 80-thousand dollars to a credit union in Florida -- home to three people he met in an Internet chat room. He also admitted his involvement in submitting a false campaign finance statement to the Federal Elections Commission.Prosecutors believe Blevins stole nearly 400-thousand dollars, but dropped numerous counts in exchange for his guilty plea.
