3 Charged in Prescription Drug Fraud Case

HARRINGTON, Del.- Harrington police say three suspects have been arrested in connection with a prescription drug fraud case that dates back to 2005.

On Sept. 24 police investigated a report of pharmaceutical violations at the Rite-Aid pharmacy. Police say they learned that the suspects engaged in obtaining a variety of prescription drugs that included Tramadol, Gabapentin, Zyprexa, Paroxentine, Gabapentin and Percocet. Police say the prescriptions were made on a prescription pad that had been illegally obtained by 32-year-old Angelique M. Dobry of Harrington and prescriptions were called into the pharmacy.

As a result of their investigation, on Sept. 30 police raided a home on Commerce Street. During the search police say they also seized trace amounts of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an assortment of pharmaceutical drugs and containers that were not authorized.

As a result of their investigation, police charged Dobry with seven counts of possession or attempt to possess prescription drug by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery or deception.

Police also charged 32-year-old Norman C. English of Harrington with tampering with physical evidence, possession of Percocet, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

A third suspect, 32-year-old Chad M. Eastburn of Harrington was charged with 19 counts of possession or attempt to possess prescription drug by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery and deception. 

Dobry jailed on a $3,500 secured bond, English was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond and Eastburn was locked up on a $1,000 secured bond. All three are pending a future hearings at Kent County Court of Common Pleas.

Police say they learned that the prescription fraud dated back to 2005. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is urged to call the Harrington Police Department at (302) 398-4493, ext 35.
