2 Hurlock Teens Charged in Stabbing

HURLOCK, Md.- Two Hurlock teenagers are facing assault and related charges in connection with a Wednesday stabbing that put a fellow teen in the hospital.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says that at around 2:25 p.m., deputies responded to a reported stabbing that had occurred in the area of 4454 Elwood Road in Hurlock.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 15-year-old male victim lying near the side of the road and bleeding profusely from a large wound to his left thigh.

Dorchester County EMS personnel arrived and were able to control the bleeding. The victim was flown by Maryland State Police Medivac to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury where he underwent emergency surgery for his wound. Police say that as of Thursday, the victim was listed in satisfactory condition.

The investigation led to the arrest of 16-year-old Darius Omar Glover of Hurlock. He was charged as an adult with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, wearing and carrying a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment. He was ordered jailed on $175,000 bond.

A second suspect in the stabbing, a 15-year-old boy who also lives in Hurlock, was charged as a juvenile with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was released to his parents.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office wants to publicly thank the citizens of the Elwood Community for their assistance during the incident. Their cooperation was very beneficial to the investigation.
