McLEAN, Va. (AP)- Can't get enough of your local congressman on C-SPAN? Now you can get 24/7 access to your representative through most cable providers.
Four House members are going live this week with MiCongress on Demand, a constituent outreach program that uses the On Demand services offered by cable companies.
Democratic Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia was the first out of the gate. He's paying roughly $2,000 a month from his taxpayer-funded office account to a company called iConstituent, which specializes in helping members communicate with their constituents through a variety of media.
Moran's office says it's a new way to reach out to constituents who might otherwise be hard to find on issues of importance to them.
