DOVER, Del. (AP)- Full-time Delaware State University employees are getting an extra bonus in their paychecks.
About 650 employees will see an additional $1,000 in their paychecks Friday. It's the first wage increase they have had in three years.
University President Harry Williams announced the one-time supplemental pay in a memo earlier this month.
Amir Mohammadi, vice president of finance and administration, says student tuition and fees will pay for the bonuses. The university had a record enrollment this fall with about 3,820 students.
The school has also undergone some reorganization to save money, such as combining schools and outsourcing its information technology services.
