Denton Police Department: July 1-7, 2011

Location : 700 block N 6TH ST
Synopsis : Denton Police charged Joshua Miller, 20 of Easton, with possession of an alcoholic beverage while under the age of 21. Police stopped a 2000 Honda for driving without lighted headlamps when required and identified the operator as Miller. During the course of the stop consent was given to search the vehicle. That search lead to the seizure of 15 cans of beer. Miller was issued a citation for the above violation and released on his signature of that citation.

Classification Violate Exparte/ Protective Order 1st Offense
Location : 700 block N 6TH ST
Synopsis : Denton Police arrested Samantha Sutherland, 18 of Denton, for shoplifting and for violating a protective order. Police were called to the Goose Creek where employees advised they observed Southerland placing items into her purse. Sutherland then made a purchase and was confronted by employees about the items in her purse. Sutherland then removed 13 various items from her purse and left the store. Sutherland was still in the parking lot when police arrived. During the course of the investigation it was learned that a final protective order had been issued against Southerland to have no contact with Jarmar Thomas, who was seated in the passenger seat of Sutherland's car. Southerland was taken into custody without incident and charged with the above violations. Sutherland was taken before a District Court Commissioner who ordered Sutherland released on her own recognizance after an initial appearance hearing.

Synopsis : Denton Police are investigating a burglary. Johnathan Church reported that sometime between July 2, 2011 and July 4, 2011 person(s) unknown forced entry into his garage and stole a 2006 Yamaha Raptor ATV, blue in color, having a value of $2800. Location : 900 block MARKET ST
Synopsis : Denton Police arrested Linda Gray, 51, and Jessica Kinsey, 23, both of Denton for assault and disorderly conduct. Police were called to the above location for a child custody issue. That issue was resolved when the above suspects arrived at the scene and began to yell and curse at various people in the area (the suspect's were related to one of the subjects in the child custody issue). Police ordered both to cease their behavior. At this point Kinsey approached Cory Mitchell and began assaulting him. Police intervened and while doing so Gray assaulted Thomas Usilton who was attempting to assist police with controlling the situation. Both Kinsey and Gray were arrested. Gray was charged with 2nd degree assault, disorderly conduct, failing to obey a lawful order or police, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.
Kinsey was charged with 2nd degree assault, disorderly conduct, failing to obey a lawful order or police, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and malicious destruction of property.
Both Kinsey and Gray were released on their own recognizance after an initial appearance hearing before a District Court Commissioner. Gray also applied for and received charges against Thomas Usilton for 2nd degree assault stemming from this incident. Usilton was served a criminal summons without incident. Denton Police were assisted by the Caroline County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police.

Synopsis : Denton Police are investigating a burglary. Jason Leach reported that sometime between 1230 PM on July 4, 2011 and 12:30 PM on July 5, 2011 person(s) unknown, by unknown means, entered his storage unit at Denton Self Storage and stole various items having a value of over $5000. Synopsis : Denton Police are investigating a theft. Eric Wilson reported that person(s) unknown stole five (5) fishing rods that were stored on a boat at Wilson's residence. The fishing rods are valued at approximately $200. Cambridge Police Department: July 7, 2011

The Cambridge Police Department is investigating the theft of a motorcycle. On June 20 2011  Police were contacted by Martin Sharp of 2614 Bryan Circle Cambridge and advised that his 2006 Suzuki GSX 1300 Motorcycle was stolen from his property sometime between June 19 2011 and June 20 2011.
 
The motorcycle is white in color and has a Maryland registration of 664M94. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cambridge Police at 410 228-3333. All calls will remain confidential.

 On July 2, 2011 a deputy from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office responded to 3278 Golden Hill Road in regards to a threat complaint. Upon arrival it was learned that 44 year old Edward J. Moody of 2570 Lakesville Crapo Road, Crapo, Md. had driven to the residence of the victim located at the above address and had threatened to cut the victim in half and burn the residence down. The suspect was arrested and charged with Making a Threat of Arson and incarcerated on $25,000 bond.

Easton Police Department: July 6, 2011

Summons Service: On 07/05/11, officers served a criminal summons on Luann Fisher, a 57-year-old from Cordova.  Charging documents state that Fisher, while shopping at the Easton Goodwill Store, placed a digital camera in her plastic bag and then exited the store without paying.  The property was valued at approximately $76.00 dollars.  Fisher was charged with one count of Theft Less Than $100.00.  She was later released on her signature.

Juvenile Theft:  On 07/04/11, officers responded to the Easton Target Store for a report of a theft.  Upon arrival, officers met with the suspect, a 16-year-old from Preston and two store employees.  It was found that the juvenile had taken a bathing suit, valued at approximately $33.00 and placed it into her personal bag.  The employees followed her to the fitting room where she handed the items to another subject.  They then approached the juvenile.  She was referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice for one count of theft less than $100.00 and was later released to her mother.

Juvenile Assault:  On 07/05/11, officers responded to the area of Subway on Marlboro Rd. for a report of an ongoing fight between juveniles.  Upon arrival, the fight had already broken up and the combatants had left the area.  A short time later, they were located and identified.  They were both males from Easton one was 13-years-old and the other was 14-years-old.  It was found that they had gone to the area together and later gotten into a verbal altercation that became physical.  Pushing and punches were thrown.  They were both taken into custody and were later referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice for one count of assault in the second degree.  The were both later released to their guardians.

Incident: Theft Investigation

Location: 300 block of Gunbys Mill Drive, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Pending

Narrative: On 5 July 2011 at 9:24 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into an overnight theft from a motor vehicle in the 300 block of Gunbys Mill Drive in Salisbury. Investigation revealed an unknown perpetrator entered a minivan in the residential neighborhood during the overnight hours.

Incident: Vandalism Investigation

Date of Incident: 5 July 2011

Location: 30000 block of W. Rustic Drive, Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Pending

Narrative: On 5 July 2011 at 11:02 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in the 30000 block of W. Rustic Drive for a reported vandalism. Upon arrival, the deputy met with a victim who showed the deputy damage to his vehicle. An unknown perpetrator had scraped an unflattering term into the paint of the victim's vehicle and also broken the glass from the side rear view mirrow.

Incident: Vandalism Investigation

Date of Incident: 5 July 2011

Location: 100 S. Main Street, Hebron, MD

Suspect: Pending

Narrative: On 5 July 2011 at 7:38 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the vandalism of a window at the Hebron Food Rite. Upon the arrival of the deputy the proprietor pointed out a window with a large crack from top to bottom. It appeared that an unknown object might have been thrown at the window, causing the damage.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office: July 4, 2011

On July 4, 2011 around 11:30 pm a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy was on Golf Course Road and was nearly struck by a vehicle that ran the stop sign on Center Drive at Golf Course Road.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Jonathan Chester, 21 years of age of Berlin Md. Mr. Chester appeared to have been drinking.  After doing poorly on field sobriety tests Mr. Chester was arrested.  Mr. Chester was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending trial.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office: July 2-3, 2011

On 7/2/2011 at approximately 1600 hours A Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy stopped a vehicle east bound Rt. 50 east of 113. for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the occupants the driver, advised he was suspended. A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted with a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a large quantity of oxycodone was located in the vehicle where the passenger was sitting. The passenger, Ashley Nichole Lewis 22 years of age of Berlin Md., Was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. Ms. Lewis was held on a $7500 bond.

On July 3, 2011 at 22:50 Hrs., Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 113 near Route 589 for speeding. During the course of the stop, a K-9 scan was conducted by a Worcester County K-9 unit, which indicated the presence of controlled dangerous substances. Based on the alert, a search was conducted and Deputies located suspected marijuana inside the trunk area of the car. The driver, Nicholas Bennett Chanconas 18 years of age 18 of Olney Md. was charged with possession of marijuana. Mr. Chanconas was taken before a judicial officer and released pending trial.

Easton Police Department- July 4, 2011 

Driving Under the Influence:

On 7/3/11 Easton Police pulled a vehicle over near Calvert Street for an equipment violation. After making contact with the driver, 24 year old Gregory Courville Jr. of Easton, Officers suspected he may have been drinking.  Courville then was given Field Sobriety tests. Afterwards he was then arrested and  charged with the following: Safety Equipment Repair,  Driving while Intoxicated and Driving while Impaired.  Courville was released on citations until trial.

Driving Under the Influence: 

On 7/3/11 Easton Police were on patrol in the area of Harrison Street near Goldsborough Street when they heard a vehicle playing extremely loud music. Police stopped the green Jeep Wrangler and identified the driver as 25 year old Dustin Tyler Wood of Denton. It was then that Officers suspected Wood may have been drinking. After performing some field sobriety tests Wood was arrested and charged with Driving with loud music, Driving under the Influence and Driving Impaired .  Wood was released on citations until trial.

3. Driving Under the Influence:

On 7/3/11 at around 230 am an Easton Police Officer was traveling on Aurora Street when a Blue Ford Explorer almost ran head on into the police car. The vehicle was pursued and as  it turned onto Salmon Ave. it struck a curb then a vehicle. After the vehicle stopped the 21 year old driver, Noe Jimenez of Easton, got out of the vehicle and was apprehended. Further investigation indicated Jimenez had been drinking. After several field sobriety tests he was then arrested and charged with the following: Failure to stay right of center, negligent driving, driving w/o a license, Driving under the influence and driving impaired. Jimenez was released on citations until trial.

4. D.U.I and Possession of Marijuana:

On 7/3/11 at around 1 am an Easton Police officer was on patrol in the area of Washington Street near Aurora Street when a vehicle nearly struck the police car. The 1977 Chevrolet was stopped and driver identified as 22 year old Mellissa Fisher of Wittman. After Police detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages in the car field sobriety tests were administered. A check of the car was conducted and a small bag of marijuana with a pipe was discovered. Fisher was arrested and charged with the following: Failure to drive right of center, Negligent driving, Driving under the influence, Driving while impaired, Possession of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Fisher was seen by the Commissioner and released until trial.

5. Disorderly Conduct:

On 7/2/11 just before midnight Easton Police responded to the 100 block of Talbot lane in reference to  a possible domestic dispute. Upon arrival Officers discovered a 16 year old Juvenile yelling in the street. After cursing at the officers the juvenile was taken into custody and referred to the Dept. of Juvenile Justice for three charges: Failure to obey an order, Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace. She was later released to her mother.

6. Malicious Destruction to property:

On 7/2/11 during the early morning hours unknown person(s) entered a property on Matthewstown Road (rt. 328) and damaged a car. The vehicle had the windows busted out and large gouges in the hood. Estimate on the damage was over $3,000.00. Anyone with information should contact Easton Police at 410-822-1111. 

7. Possession of marijuana:

On 7/4/11 at around 2:30 am Easton Police stopped a small SUV on Rt. 50 near Lomax Street for speeding. After approaching the vehicle Officers noticed what appeared to be a strong odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment. The driver and 3 others were told to evacuate the car. Further investigation lead to the discovery of a small bag of suspected marijuana and cigars used as smoking devices. Arrested and charged were the following people: 18 year old Juan Wease, 18 year old William Castillo and 19 year old Jose Paz. (all of Rockville/Silver Spring area) All three were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Wease went to the Detention Center on $3000.00 bond and the others were released until trial.

Talbot County Sheriff's Office: July 3, 2011

Wittman - On July 3, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office responded to the 22000 block of Pot Pie Road for a domestic assault. Upon arrival the Deputies made contact with Elisabeth Ann Green, 27 of Easton, MD and Patrick Bruce Wrightson, 31 of Wittman, MD. Both Green and Wrightson advised Deputies they were assaulted by the other and injuries observed on both parties substantiated their statements. Green and Wrightson were placed under arrest and charged with one count of second degree assault. Both were taken before a District Court Commissioner, their release status is not known.

Cordova – On June 30, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office stopped a black Dodge Charger on Ocean Gateway near Probasco Landing Road for speeding. Upon contact with the operator, Dewayne Hopkins, 20 of Prince George's County, MD it was noted the driver was evasive and would not make contact directly with the Deputy. The Deputy identified a passenger in the vehicle as Jonathan Leon Fruit, 20 of Upper Marlboro, MD. A container of an alcoholic beverage was located in the vehicle, and a further search revealed a small amount of marijuana. Fruit claimed ownership of the alcohol and marijuana and was placed under arrest. Fruit was charged with possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol. Fruit was seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.

Royal Oak -  On July 3, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office responded to Hopkins Neck Road at Deep Water Harbour Road for a domestic assault which took place in a vehicle. The Deputies made contact with Christina Ann Blizzard, 36 of Easton, MD at this location who advised she was assaulted by her boyfriend Brian Andrew Wood, 36 of Easton, MD in their vehicle. Wood had fled the area on foot prior to the Deputies arrival. Blizzard stated Wood struck her in the chest with his elbow several times while they were seated in the vehicle after an argument. An arrest warrant was obtained for Wood and he turned himself into the Talbot County Sheriff's Office on July 5th. Wood was charged with second degree assault and released by a District Court Commissioner.

Somerset County Sheriff's Office's Most Recent Arrests- Submitted June 30, 2011

Cody Hunter Elliott of Ocean City, arrested 6-23-11 on a warrant regarding violation of probation. Elliott was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Jerome Anthony London of Virginia Beach Virginia, arrested 6-27-11 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court. London was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

Levin Johnson of Pocomoke, arrested 6-27-11 on a body attachment warrant. Johnson was later released pending trial.

Ryan Lanear Johnson of Crisfield, arrested 6-27-11 on a warrant regarding failing to appear in court. Johnson was held without bond.

Aleesha Martina Edwards of Princess Anne, arrested 6-28-11 on a warrant regarding failing to pay fines. Edwards was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police Target Criminal Activity in Pocomoke City: June 28, 2011

On June 28, 2011, members of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office Criminal Enforcement Team, the Patrol Division, and the Canine Division, along with the Maryland State Police, conducted a saturation patrol initiative in Pocomoke City, Maryland. During this initiative a total of 6.5 grams of cocaine and 9.7 grams of marijuana were seized. The following individuals were arrested and charged with the following offenses:
