SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury man is behind bars following accusations that he stabbed a woman and then threw her down a flight of stairs during a dispute.

Calvin Eugene Flagg, 51, is charged with first- and second-degree assault, as well as reckless endangerment.

Salisbury police say the incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, July 16 at a home located on the 500 block of Rose Street. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed Flagg in possession of a kitchen knife. He was then detained while police investigated what happened.

According to police, an investigation revealed that Flagg and the victim got into an argument at which time Flagg struck the victim in both eyes. Investigators say that Flagg then picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the buttocks before pushing her down a flight of steps.

The victim was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Flagg was taken into custody on the aforementioned charges and ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bond.
