New Hope for G.E.D. Students in Wicomico County

Updated:

SALISBURY, Md.- Adults in Wicomico County hoping to get their general equivalency diploma may now have a new place to get their education.

Maryland's director of the adult education program said that Chesapeake College in Wye Mills would become a temporary provider. Officials from the mid-shore institution visited the Wicomico County Public Library to look into the possibility of hosting classes there.

This week, student records from Wor-Wic Community College were transferred to Chesapeake. Wor-Wic decided to cut the program for the following school year due to budget constraints. The state is looking for a more permanent provider.
