SEAFORD, Del (AP)- State officials are continuing their public outreach to update residents about Delaware's progress in improving water quality in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Delaware is among six Chesapeake Bay Watershed states that, along with the District of Columbia, are committed to restoring water quality of the bay by 2025.
Delaware agriculture secretary Ed Kee was to appear at a community forum at Seaford Fire Hall on Thursday night to outline accomplishments of Delaware's long-range plan for reducing pollutants from entering local waterways. State environmental secretary Collin O'Mara spoke at similar forum last week in Dover.
The first phase of Delaware's plan includes targets for reducing pollution from agriculture, urban stormwater, septic systems and wastewater treatment facilities.
