SEAFORD, Del.- Seaford residents cleaned up and pumped out their basements on Friday following widespread flooding in the area.

John Crosby has lived in the same Seaford house for close to five decades. He said his basement received only 3 inches of floodwater.

Across the street from Crosby on Washington Avenue, his neighbors were not as fortunate.

Michelle Holland said that although the flooding was not as bad as in 2006, on Friday morning she had several feet of water in her basement. Holland said her house lost electricity and water because of the flooding.

"The water didn't get as high, but it still flooded the streets," Holland said. "We have nowhere to stay. We're going day-to-day, staying with friends and neighbors."
