CENTREVILLE, Md.- Maryland State Police say a juvenile was killed and three other people were injured in a Friday morning car accident in Centreville.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Routes 301 and 304. Police learned that the juvenile driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling on westbound Route 304 when he failed to yield the right of way to the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup, who was traveling in lane two of southbound Route 301.

Police said the driver of the Ford then struck the Jeep on the passenger side, causing it to overturn and land in a field.

There were three juvenile occupants in the Jeep at the time of the accident. The Jeep's front seat passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. The rear seat passenger, who was ejected from the Jeep, was taken along with the driver to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. The names of the juveniles have not yet been released.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Richard Anthony Niski of Dover, Del., was transported to Chester River Hospital in Chestertown, Md., for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
