EASTON, Md.- Authorities are investigating a Monday morning fire that left an Easton convenience store in ruins.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the two-alarm blaze occurred shortly after 10 a.m. at the Fast Stop located on 4543 Ocean Gateway (Route 50).
It took 50 firefighters, from the Easton, Oxford, St. Michaels, Trappe, Cordova, Queen Anne Hillsboro and Queenstown fire companies responded to the scene.
There were no reported injuries. The fire- which took approximately two hours to get under control- caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to the building and another $200,000 in damage to its contents, according to investigators.
Authorities said an employee discovered the fire in the interior rear of the store. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
