SALISBURY, Md.- An information systems glitch at Peninsula Regional Medical Center has led one Hebron woman to consider taking legal action.
Tammie "Michele" Weber said days after she delivered her now month-old son, hospital staff started limiting her time with him.
"The next morning the doctor got there and that's when he told me the baby tested positive for [barbiturates] and cocaine," Weber said. "I told him there was no way. It's not possible."
Weber, an addictions nurse, said she insisted they test her for drugs.
"When they tested me and I was negative and he was positive, they realized there had to be a mistake," Weber said.
Earlier in November, Weber said she received a letter of apology from P.R.M.C., explaining that her son never tested positive for drugs, and that it was an error caused by scheduled computer down time.
A spokesperson for PRMC issued this statement to WBOC: If Ms. Weber continues to have concerns, we are happy to discuss those directly with her.
